It’s been nearly two years since Nintendo unveiled its last comprehensive presentation in the form of a Nintendo Direct. Last time we heard from the gaming giant was in February 2021 – and luckily, that drought is about to come to an end. After months of no news, Nintendo has announced that a brand-new, roughly 40-minute Nintendo Direct will be arriving on June 21. Here’s everything you need to know.
To make sure you don’t miss a thing, tune in at 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. ET) on Nintendo’s Twitch and YouTube channels. If you don’t already follow these accounts, now is the time to get on board. Once the Direct begins, the video will be viewable on both services.
Of course, there is always a fair amount of speculation as to what Nintendo has in store for viewers. While none of it can be confirmed until the Direct airs, there are a few rumors that have been popping up throughout gaming sites and sources.
Fans have already begun speculating that Nintendo is preparing to reveal a new title in the “Animal Crossing” franchise. Others have speculated that the Direct will effectively be the “unboxing” of the upcoming, much-anticipated sequel for “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”. Much of the content leading up to the Direct has also alluded to Nintendo’s exploration into other mediums such as film and comics.
Nintendo is known for its surprise debuts and unexpected reveals. This upcoming Direct may be the perfect opportunity for the gaming giant to show off some of the new projects they’ve been toiling away in secrecy. While we can’t confirm anything until the announcement, Nintendo’s direct on June 21 is sure to be a must-watch for gamers and fans alike!
